Watch your students marvel at and fly breathtaking birds of prey, from harris hawks to barn and eagle owls.
Rich in a diversity of habitats, from grassland and woodland to brush, Gwel an Mor attracts a stunning range of wild birds, and students will have the opportunity to stroll through their beautiful natural habitat while looking for wildlife, as well as identifying local bird songs.
At Feadon Farm, Gwel an Mor, pupils will also enjoy the rare opportunity to fly some magnificent but elusive falconry birds, two of which are spotted in the wild only by a lucky few. They will take in Sly the barn owls graceful flight, marvel at teh sheer size and strength of Chunk the European eagle owl, and enjoy the acrobatic skills of the farm’s two harris hawks, Harry and Harriot.
A wildlife and conservation expert will be on hand to discuss environmental and natural factors that affect wild bird populations, and worksheets are available to suport students learning.
Please not children must be at least 6 years or older to fly the larger birds.
