Rock Pooling & Seashore Adventure
Encourage your pupils to dive into nature as they spot hermit crabs, starfish and sea hares; and maybe even a seal or dolphin.
Gwel an Mor is situated just fifteen minutes walking distance from the picturesque Portreath beach, with its array of teeming rock pools. Your students will love searching out hermit crabs, starfish and sea hares, and if they’re really lucky, spotting a seal or dolphin.
Assisted by a wildlife and conservation expert, pupils will be provided with equipment, as well as tricks and tips to help them hunt down the diverse range of sea creatures in the rock pools. They will then be able to identify their finds using our fact sheets.
The beautiful location of Portreath beach lends itself to a myriad of activities, from ball games to sand castle building competitions, and equipment can be provided as required.
Please note that times and dates for these sessions are dictated by tide times.
