What Our Guests Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our guests do the talking!

“…Ideal for families with young children as most of the activities centre around the wildlife centre run by Gary and his wife Alyson. My daughter and all the other children we met thought Gary was “fantastic” as he made all the experiences very hands on for the children and educated them in a very enjoyable way. The most enjoyable we thought was the rock pooling, where Gary gets into the rock pools and shows the children how to catch the crabs, scorpion fish, sea hares and anything else that is around at the time… ”

“…We went on an adventure experience provided by Gary on the farm, it lasted about 3 hours and was brilliant, Gary sweeps you along with his passion for wildlife and meeting foxes and flying Sly the Owl was amazing. A must to do!”

“…wonderful activities for children including rock pooling, falconry and a ‘meet the animals experience’. Gary and Alyson with their enthusiasm and knowledge about the animals make it really interesting for adults and children.”

“Our 5 year old son was desperate to come back here again (he has been asking since we left in September!) because he absolutely loved the wildlife activities. Gary Zammit is a wonderful expert with so much knowledge to share…which is lucky for us as our son is keen to learn and does not stop asking questions!! I would recommend ALL of the activities as they are suitable for everyone, young and old. My son especially enjoyed the falconry, where he flew an Eagle Owl called ‘Chunk’, a Barn Owl called ‘Sly’ and a Harris Hawk called ‘Harry’. The rockpooling is another must…Gary gets right in the water (up to his waist!), scooping up anything he sees so that he can teach the littles ones the beauty of sea creatures. The nightwalk was great…we left at 9.15pm and got back to our lodge at 11.30pm…not only do you feed the tame foxes and fly the barn owl, you get to ‘lamp’ fields to see what animals are out and about…the time flies by when you are having fun. The cost for activities are very reasonable considering the amount you learn and that they last for about 2 hours+ with no sense of rushing. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like, I don’t think there is anything that Gary doesn’t know about wildlife!”

“…We were very sad to leave Gwel an Mor and want to say a special thank you to all the friendly staff, especially Gary, who made it a very special holiday…I am sure that our son will remember everything you taught him, so watch out, he will be after your job!”

Dear Gary & Team!

Many thanks for such a wonderful ‘falconry experience’ when we stayed at Gwel an Mor last week.

Please find enclosed a small donation which I hope can help towards some of the great work you do. We really had a very special time and our afternoon with you was especially the highlight of our week. The 2 “TOADS” are still talking about Sly, Chunk and Harry and I’m sure they won’t forget it.

I do hope we get the chance to visit again.

Kind regards,

Sharon Hawkes,

Spencer, Eva, Farrah & Hayden

“…This time we took the kids (4 and 2) on a ‘meet the animals’ experience run by Alyson, the resident wildlife ranger. The children loved feeding the chickens, flying a barn owl and stroking the rescue foxes. The wildlife centre at Gwel an Mor is a real gem and totally unique among UK holiday parks.”
